Oil price irregularities these days are totally baffling out the Filipino people.
As we track the previous hikes and its counterpart, erratic rollbacks in the prices of oil, it seems to be an increasing and decreasing trend that contributes to the nationwide confusion, especially to public and private drivers and commuters.
The country's three major oil giants Petron, Shell and Caltex apparently slashed the oil rates of diesel, gasoline and kerosene by P4 per liter in conformity with the descent trend of the oil costs in the world market.
Of course, it is anticipated that whenever global market plummeted its oil value at atleast $86 per barrel, local oil institutions in the Philippines, and in other countries as well, will follow due to the fearing state of the oil banks regarding the US credit crisis that will probably lead to restrain in oil demands.
Some smaller oil firms here in the Philippines matched the current cut off of the three oil giants by P1 per liter cheaper. That's the folly of the Oil Deregulation Law that implies lower price of fuel through open competition among many players.
But actually, there's no really what-you-call competition. Bet it's only for show. These smaller firms that abased the cost of their products has a smaller contribution to the total national oil expenses.

The world was stunned as the media exposed the frightful demise of two financial giants in the United States, the Lehman Brothers and the Merrill Lynch, followed by the earth-shattering exhaustion of the American International Group, the largest insurance company in the US.
This Wall Street financial meltdown worried a lot of investors from different countries. It's not just about America. It's also about the global economy. As the saying goes, "As America sneezes, the world catches cold."
Former Federal Reserve Chairman Chief Alan Greenspan marked at a query that this crisis has less than 50% chance of escaping recession. This calls for a more effective strategem coming from various sectors to prevent troubled subprime mortgages, extreme plunging home values, and credit default swaps.
Expectations for a quick end of this crisis are fading fast. Many financial companies, both local and foreign, are professing their corresponding losses. Some decided to dissolve their institution, some insisted that they are able to bring back their same old stabilized systems. Having a thorough analysis, these happenings imply a threatened economy to all.
These past few days, consecutive claims of bailouts and great amounts of rescues coming from AIG, and also from the American government, gave a much-needed breathing room for the countries prior to this serious business recession. They somehow took the risk of giving out large amount of money to counter the frightful implications of this tightening economy.
These bailouts, in reality, also do have limits. There would be a greater risk of unintended consequences. It may not be obvious now, but it might rattle our future undertakings. It would surely contribute a lot of consequences in decades to come.
This current catastrophic nightmare creates a minimal initial damage in our country. But, the future outcome of this economic downturn remains to be sketchy. The first step to attain a successful stabilization is to reassure the clients, bringing back their gradually lost confidence and trust in their partners' trade system.
Let's not be too chancy in taking the risks. Dependence solely in another country neither is the solution. Economic clash is possible to all, even the greatest and most systematic institutions from around the globe.
Let's storm the heavens in prayers and continuously hope that this seismic shock will be contained. This global crisis, attributed to be the worst after the 1928 clash, might first leave us the scar, and knock us down, but it isn't impossible for us to get up off the mat and dust ourselves off from this economic upheaval.

The alarm has risen up to its peak. No doubt it's heart-thrilling.
The Moro Islamic Liberation Front continues its fight for its long awaited total liberalization. Non-stop assaults and bloody offenses are still unconquered by the Philippine governement in Mindanao grounds since last month.
Ceasefire denied, peace talks rejected. Widespread deaths and property closures are continuously taking their positions in Kulambugan, Lanao del Norte. Every tick of the clock counts. Lives were dangerously on hold. These happenings aren't just in dreams. They are turned to reality.
The government's effort in suppressing these unfavorable attacks were open to media.They undoubtedly send their land, air, and marine forces to battle out these ruthless groups. These efforts ended up useless for it just contribute to the infinite trauma for the people in Mindanao. It just helped to increase the number of deaths in the area. Wars would definitely not contribute in the cessation of this phenomena.
The Commission on Human Rights ended up at the point where they had realized the need for ceasefire. But then, the MILF would just probably continue to spread darkness in Mindanao unless they are favored by the heads of the government. The tolerance of this gruelsome deeds neither is the solution.
Government leaders provided a solution through the Memorandum on Agreement on ancestral domains. This proposal to disseminate lands for the Muslim people was denied by the main heads of this country. What lies beneath? They didn't let this through, and they got trouble up to its extremity.
These terrifying events obviously needed desperate attention. The government should push through more authoritative orders. Response indeed is urgent. There ought to have a self-check. Time to check the motives on every step. Sincere efforts and actions are massively needed. Let's prat for peace on order to attain truce in the Philippines.

We are currently facing another massive crisis in the Philippines, which inescapably divulge that we, Filipinos, are again expected to tighten our belts to meet both ends. The blow from the recent surge in oil prices undeniably causes alarm all over the world, especially in our country.
World crude prices once more shot up to a record high of $55 - $69 per barrel for Dubai and New York oil prices recently. And just as everybody expected, local oil giants Shell, Caltex, Petron and even new oil players immediately took advantage of the situation and raised their pump prices by as much as 50 centavos per liter for diesel and gasoline.
The latest hike is the 14th time for this year or a total of almost 7.50 per liter increase for diesel and P4 for gasoline. Prices of local petroleum products are offensively high, way too much for ordinary workers and consumers to absorb. But unluckily, there seems no stopping to the weekly price adjustments. Continuous increase discerned everybody’s consciousness.
The underprivileged Filipinos are primarily affected of these concerns for the reason that it makes their budget tighter than before. Herewith, basic commodities gradually turn out to be a burden to everybody, even a single piece in our daily routine is rather affected.
Our nation is presently under dispute on what to carry out in suppressing this catastrophe. Some cry that it’s better to repeal the Oil Deregulation Law, which permits oil companies to freely adjust their oil prices that typically lead Filipinos to suffer life’s complexity. Tawag Ka lang, Tulong Mo sa Bayan – one of the projects of Mayor Cecilio “Boyet’ Ynares within Binangonan district. It aims to prevent further crimes and violations present in the community, and to promote peace, prosperity and the safety of the people.
Binangonan, according to an interview, is still a safe place but it couldn’t completely eradicate some of the wrongdoings present in it. Corruption and fraternities, whether it be simple or not, were still at hand in Binangonan. Some people still do misdeeds, carrying wrong intentions that could lead to an even worse surrounding.
There are also lots of schools in Binangonan – may it be for elementary, high school or either college. Thus, implying that security of the people, especially the students, must surely be pragmatic.
In order to attain that, Binangonan municipality should eliminate those immoral and unjustifiable acts towards betterment.
It’s been favorable for the people to be free from worries through the execution of Tawag Ka Lang, Tulong Mo sa Bayan project. Being concern is exemplary, and it has been made easier to contribute towards Binangonan’s development. As the name of the project concludes, people could label and report apparent violations, and finding better solutions.
Binangonan’s currently under this project, looking forward to firmer support, a prosper living, and a safer place for everyone.

Similar issue has risen again. This time, it has already reached a far more serious phase.
The earth was shattered as the media bared another scandal coming from China these past few days. After retaliating to the previous controversies and frightful issues, China wasn't able to escape from the outstripping toxic milk scandal they are currently dealing with.
Mothers in China, particularly in Beijing, are up to now voicing their fear, confusion and anger due to growing scandal over tainted milk powder. Their children, some died and many illed, are grievous enough to struggle for what has happened.
This defanation isn't to be considered typical. Lives are massively involved here. According to reports shown, three babies have already died and the number of worsely-illed infants has reached 6,244. The alarm has definitely risen to its peak.
Beijing's Capital Pediatric Research Institute named the toxic found in some milk from various companies in China as Melamine. This industrial chemical are purposely made for wood works, car-tainting and other commercially viable products only. How come 21 more companies include this hazardous chemical powder in the food industry, particularly in milk?
Other countries, including Philippines, were also rattled down to their senses. They had initiated a nation-wide pullout of some brands known to have melamine, and continuously pursuing a content-checkup for other dairy products to ensure safety of the people.
Due to tightening economy nowadays, no doubt some can possibly think of doing such infamy. They obviously didn't take into consideration the crippling effects it would bring, It just adds up to the country's burden - it just adds up to the disgrace attributed to their home-based country.
The lamenting outcome of this imprudent act totally violates the moral law God has laid upon us - that lives are far more important than to pursue self-aggrandizement.
Well, the solution of this crisis wasn't in fact immediate. As a wise consumer, we must be held accountable in our every action. Don't just brag with products for they appear cheaper. Always give benefits of the doubt.
No one else can take responsibility to ourselves. Since we are aware of the "modern" flow of life today, we are bound to face it with a more critical and practical judgment. This has always been a call for accountability in every nation.

Quite fatuous. Unclear. Unmoving.
The latest State of the Nation Address by Philippine president Gloria Macapagal Arroyo's claim about the current progress of Filipino's lives can be described with those words.
Philippines, in an inevitable perspective, strives double as much as to reach its ultimate goal: to attain a nation where its dreams are just close to reality, where everyone could attest that they are moving in a totally progressive community.
The government tried their best to increase the country's competitiveness, to strengthen its good governance, and to continue to fight the battle every single day. No one could provoke that there's no effort - at least a little effort coming from the heads of our country today.
Yet, these efforts seem to be insufficient. They keep on stating dulcet promises to exonerate poverty manifesting within our country today.
Though excluded in PGMA's latest SONA, negative aspects glued in our economy are continuously rising within Filipino's lifestyle. Obvious in the society? Absolutely true. Inflation rates come in double digits. Massive job losses and income slowdowns are back-to-back. Six million jobs were created, statistics have shown, but then these are mere underemployment. Many sectors had lost than those who had gained. There's no clear progress. It's vague. It's ideniably obfuscate.
Filipino lives had totally shifted from progressive to unconstructive. There's a massive change as to Filipino lfestyle today than to the previous years. Everyone could feel it, indeed, an adamant matter.
We are one nation with one fate. To meet the challenges of tomorrow, we must know how to become more self-reliant, self-sufficient and a lot independent. If those in the government couldn't stand for our country's progress, let's cling onto this: we can change the world from below.

Korean med volunteers prop up RNSHS

Korean volunteers from Chung-ang University, led by their Capt. Lee Moo-Yeol, once again visited Rizal National Science High School for 9 days to demeanor their intended community outreaches within several districts in Rizal, June 23-30.
The volunteers lodged in RiSci’s dormitory as they roam around Rizal’s premises to initiate Medical Missions at no cost. They started off their duties at Teresa, Rizal, followed by a 2-day task in Sampaloc and Tanay, Rizal as well. Aside from Risci grounds, they also situated their public consultations in Binangonan Elementary School whereas people from over Batingan and Layunan joined in the said event. They offered communal counseling regarding health matters, as well as performing mass preventive measures like fogging in the respective places.
The volunteer group this year was chiefly composed of several pharmacists, health transcriptionists, medical heads and nursing students from the said university in South Korea, each decided to commit their selves in service.
The Boy Scouts of the Philippines rendered their aid to the Koreans through endowing them several accommodations regarding their food and transportation. The rest of the utilities in their operations followed the voluntary basis.
Aside from inducing health services, the Koreans also seized some time in introducing their sports and culture with the Filipinos. At an interview, they informed that they are doing this yearly, though each time there were varying staffs, due to the well-kept tie between Koreans and the Filipinos which started since the NoKor vs SoKor war in the 1950’s.
After spending more than a week in Rizal, they shall then ensue to Angeles, Pampanga to keep on their pledged commitment as to assist the people from around the country dealing with their subsequent health and lifestyle.
“We wanted to show how much we love our Filipino friends through this service opportunity in the Philippines. Everything went good; we love the culture, especially the smiles of those people we had taken the chance to help,” Capt. Lee avowed.

School year 2007-2008 has finally reached its end. Scholars from the 7th Batch of the Rizal National Science High School
Within their four years of rigid training here in RiSci, Batch 07 has accomplished their duties and tasks as the cream of the crop, not just as ordinary high schoolers. They were trained and wrought with excellence as scholars, taught with good and moral deeds, and wholly set to become better and successful citizens that will lead us in the future.
This April 3, year 2008, RiSci’s 7th Commencement Exercises up with the theme “Rizalenong Gradweyt: Ipagdiwang ang Tagumpay, Harapin ang Hamon”, will officially declare a remarkable ending, and definitely a start of just a new beginning for a total of 119 scholars of the 7th Batch – 39 boys and 80 girls to be exact.
In every graduation, there will always be recognition of those students with the fruits of their hard work in academics, and even in their exemplary accomplishments in their extra curricular activities. Some may not be in the honor roll, but still, they contributed a lot for the school, and still offered themselves and their loved ones the triumph they had arrived at.
This year’s outstanding students were: Louie Aldrin M. Intalan of IV-Humility, batch valedictorian; Gert Rino M.Mansos of IV-Patience, salutatorian; Patrick G. Rollan of IV-Fortitude, 1st honorable mention; Robert Alfie S. Pena and Angeline D. Abibuag, both from IV-Perseverance, attained the 2nd and the 3rd honorable mentions, respectively; Ma. Jessamine R. Versoza, Karla Marianne C. Caraan, and John Lorenzo A. Yambot, all from IV-Fortitude, were correspondingly the 4th, the 5th and the 6th honorable mentions; Anna Clarysse F. Medina of IV-Perseverance, 7th honorable mention; Mary Reiza Ericka Reusi of IV-Patience, 8th honorable mention; Christian Edward P. Manalac of IV-Humility, 9th honorable mention; Jane Clarice R. Laurente of IV-Humility, 10th honorable mention; Ulyses A. Solon Jr. of IV-Perseverance, 11th honorable mention; Irene A. Miranda of IV-Fortitude, 12th honorable mention; and Arna Sharlyn M. The graduation proper, headed by the RNSHS principal, Mrs. Ma. Elena V. Bernardo, includes several speakers that will congratulate, inspire, and motivate each graduate to pursue and strive harder for their dreams. Mr. Rogelio Estacio, RiSci’s product from the 2nd batch, spoke to them and gave them thoughts to live by as they approach one of their greatest challenges in life - the college life. Hon. Casimiro Ynares III, Mr. Ferdinand Pascual, Mrs. Marites A. Ibanez, Hon. Cecilio M. Ynares, Hon. Michael John R. Duavit, and Hon. Jesli A. Lapuz are some of the guest speakers that will share and bestow their thoughts and heartening messages that will certainly help the graduates in building up their futures.
Truly, Batch 07’s stay here in RiSci conveyed out the potentials they have inside since they first entered this school. They encountered challenges here in this institution that sometimes gave them complexity, but inevitably clarified its importance in creating a more ideal and an improved person in them.
Rizal Science served as a firm foundation for their higher journey in education. They can employ their experiences here in their outside spree; use them as instruments in following their dreams and reaching the pinnacle they ever wanted to achieve.
